About Blackfoot and the surrounding area
Some Highlights on Blackfoot from Wikipedia (www.wikipedia.org):
As of the 2005 census, the city population was 10,646. The city is the county seat of Bingham
County. Blackfoot is designated the "Potato Capital of the World", because it has the
largest potato industry in Idaho, the United States, and even the world. It is home
to the Idaho Potato Expo (a museum and gift shop that displays and explains the history
of Idaho's potato industry), which is home to the world's largest baked potato and potato chip.
On first glance, the Blackfoot area might seem pretty flat -- drive a few miles east, and you start to
hit the highlands where you will find Wolverine Canyon, a fantastic place for hiking, whitewater rafting,
mountain biking, camping, and fishing during the summer, and cross-country skiing and snowmobiling during the winter.
Check out some pictures on the Blackfoot Chamber of Commerce website, which features more information on the Blackfoot area.
